1. What is this FreeBSD?
FreeBSD is a free Unix-like operating system, created by Computer Systems Research Group (CSRG) on Berkeley University in California. The initiators of FreeBSD project were Nate Williams, Rod Grimes and Jordan Hubbard. FreeBSD name came up David Greenman from Walnut creek CDROM. The official logo is daemon, and official motto is "The power to serve".

Because, the FreeBSD OS is efficient and reliable, people using him usually in servers or firewall. FreeBSD is using by Yahoo, Yandex, Netcraft etc.
FreeBSD doesn't have any desktop environment or a lot of programs, so converted many programs for Linux like: KDE, Gnome, Open Office on this system.
